E is super into numbers so we’ve been exploring them a lot lately. There’s even a show called Number Blocks on Netflix he loves.
We have been using an abacus, number magnets, unifix blocks and other loose parts for weeks to promote his Numeracy exploration, but recently we introduced him to a fun new game on the computer called ‘Calculator’!
He likes this awesome game because he can do mathematics and make up his own equations. He creates his numeracy problem on the abacus or using his blocks, then enters it into the Calculator.
10 beads + 10 beads = 20 beads!
He cross checks the computer is correct by counting out the beads and then he creates the number with his magnets.
